Our team of highly experienced SafeContractor accredited mechanical engineers have been working with companies in Devon, Cornwall, across the wider South West and nationwide for over 20 years. For larger projects, we are happy to work abroad as needed. We work with large organisations, such as Mars Wrigley Confectionery Ltd, who we have worked with more than 15 years – but no job is too big or small. We can cater for small one-off jobs or large projects spanning many weeks or months.
Our services include industrial machinery commissioning, installation and rebuilds / refurbishments and modifications, as well as equipment moving and decommissioning. We carry out one-off mechanical fault-finding and repairs – including hydraulic and pneumatic works, as well as providing planned / routine maintenance and servicing contracts. In addition to our mechanical engineering services, we also provide industrial electrical installation and repairs – plus pipework and welding services.
At AP Mechanical Engineering, we work on all types of plant machinery, including diggers and dumpers. We have a JCB 540 140 4 ton Telehandler plus a 2 ton electric counterbalance forklift, which our fully trained and experienced operators use on client sites.
Whilst our team carries out much of our work on-site at our clients’ facilities, we also have a fully-equipped workshop with milling machines, lathes, a 200 ton hydraulic press and Mig/Tig welding.

Food Processing
Extensive experience across a broad range of food processing machines, including mixers, blenders, conveying equipment – screw belt, blower conveyors, as well as valves and pipework. We are very aware of food hygiene and the avoidance of contamination risks.
Manufacturing
We work on all types of manufacturing equipment, including metal processing machinery – milling machines, lathes, horizontal boring machines, vertical boring machines, hydraulic plant, pneumatic plant, compressor and steam plant.
Construction
Our services to the construction industry cover work on all types of plant machinery, including excavators, dumpers and all site equipment. We repair or replace worn or damaged pins, bushes, cylinders and buckets. We also manufacture or replace hydraulic hoses on site.
